"Hindsight, insight and foresight ... and the nature of oversight"
The Waikato Centre for eLearning is pleased and excited to announce that Professor Gilly Salmon, Pro Vice Chancellor Learning Transformations, Swinburne University of Technology, will deliver the keynote address at WCELfest2012.
Gilly is well known for her pioneering work in eLearning, articles and commentary about the future for learning technologies in Higher Education and as an international speaker. Her five stage model has informed the development of thousands of online courses with even more students having engaged with e-tivities inspired by her book of the same name.
Gilly has two research degrees: in change management and ICT and pedagogy. Recent books include Podcasting for Learning in Universities. The third edition of her seminal book E-moderating was released in June 2011.
Prior to joining Swinburne, Gilly was Executive Director and Professor (Learning Futures), Australian Digital Futures Institute, USQ, Professor of E-learning and Learning Technologies at the University of Leicester, UK, and head of the Beyond Distance Research Alliance and the Media Zoos (on campus, online and in-world in Second Life). She is a Senior Fellow and a National Teaching Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy, Trustee of EDEN, and chair of the UK's Association of Learning Technologies.
