Surprising results from eLearning Survey

The WCEL eLearning Surveys run during semester B 2008 yielded some surprising results. The University has released an article that picks up on some of the more provocative elements.  The results indicate that students are less aware of key Web 2.0 technologies than perhaps assumed. The article has been picked up by a number of news sources, including Science Alert in Australia. The full release can be read on the Waikato News site.

The two surveys - one for staff and one for students - looked at student and staff awareness and use of computer technology, experiences of eLearning practice within the University and expectations  around the use of technology in teaching and learning. The surveys formed one part of a larger data gathering exercise to gain a snapshot of current practice around eLearning within the Institution. The report of the results will be released in the New Year.
